Gate Fold Card Instructions

See picture below!

1.  Start with a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 x 11.

2.  Cut the paper at the 5 1/2 inch mark to cut paper in half (in education we would call this a hamburger cut/fold). You will have 2 pieces of paper that are 5 1/2: x 8 1/2".  This is the card base.

3.  Score the cardstock at the 2 1/8" on each side of the 8 1/2" side.

4.  Fold the cardstock to the front or fold it in on the scored line.  

5.  Cut a piece of designer paper 2  x 5 1/4 to adhere to one fold.  Repeat for the other folder.  The paper can be matching or can be complimentary.

6.  If your cardstock is a dark color, then you can cut a piece of paper (4 x 5 1/4") that can be posted inside the card  so you can write or stamp a message.  

7.  Cut a focal point accent for the front of the card.  The Cricut has many options that work well.  Let your creativity go to work!  Foam squares, dimensionals or something that pops this accent out works well.
